I'M EXPECTING!!!!... Voy a entrenar! Mi Hija!‏ {September 22nd}

Well this week was just crazy. Everything has been so fast, we had the 18 celebration, and today I had to say goodbye to Hna. Van... Also found about cambios today, and I'm gonna be a trainer. Pretty scary, huh? I'm gonna have that huge responability of teaching my 'hija'. Oh well, I know I will learn a lot from it. I'm just a little nervous is all. I'm still learning, just like always. I hope I get a gringa! Hehe.

Well I have travelled a lot today, that's why I'm writing so late. I get to travel again to Concepción tomorrow with an another hermana, cause I'm her comp for now. I don't get my hija until  wednesday, so I'll be staying the night with some other sisters. They are 27 new missionaries coming so there's 27 trainers. I'm one of them! Ahh! Anyway, I'm grateful for the time I had with Hna. Van, I learned so much from her and I loved laughing with her. I'll miss her!

Send me your prayers! Now I'm really gonna need ever than before! ;)

Love y'all,
Hermana Melody Anderson

P.S. many 18 celebration pics this week

18 de Septiembre this week!!! YYEEEAAAHH.‏ {September 15th}

Hello again,

This past week has been pretty crazy, we've been travelling a lot. I had an intercambio with Hna. Troncoso in Los Alamos twice. The second time we had to be together because our comps are 'dying' and had to go to some conference. Anyway, we experienced a miracle!! They had a baptism planned for saturday with Catalina and they had invited the mom as well to get baptized. She did not want to at all, but here comes the miracle... On friday I was there and Cata had her baptism interview. While we were waiting we were teaching her, and this member comes in and starts helping us teach. She was an ex-missionary and she shared her experiences with Claudia (the mom) about how she was a catholic too, but she felt this was true and she didn't let what her family thought stop her. So Claudia decided to get interviewed that night, and she was baptized with her daughter the next day. ¡Que linda! I was so amazed how she changed her mind. She was just worried about how her family would react, but she took that leap of faith! Well this is the last week I have with Hna. Van de Merwe... So sad!! Boo. I'm glad we get to celebrate the 18th together. I love her and don't want her to go.

Love,

Carlos is now a member! It's official.‏ {September 8th}

Hi.

What a great week we had! Haha I am so amazed by the power of fasting. Well as you know, Carlos was baptized on September 6th of 2014. We are so proud of him. First we weren't sure if it would be possible to have be baptized. He's 13 and his parents aren't members, so we had to make sure he had good friends in the church. Also he had to come to church by himself, we couldn't go get him. But he came every sunday! He told us his story that one time some elders came by 3 months ago and he was waiting for them, but they never came back. Eventually we came by! What a blessing. He had been waiting to hear more and receive this gospel. He is one the best young men I've ever met. He's been reading the BoM and he can tell us every story. It's crazy! He understands everything, and he never has questions. Anyway, his parents have opening up to us more. We had the chance to have a family home evening with them after the baptism. It was so great, or maybe I'm just so happy.

I've been seeing so many miracles in such a little amount of time. I've never had the opportunity to be in a sector with the same comp and have more than one baptism. Not that matters personally, but it seems pretty special to me. Carlos shared his testimony after his baptism, he's such an example for his familly. His mom is not married, but they have plans to do so. She was so proud of her son, she was crying and hugging him. I'm grateful I could be a part of that. Also yesterday during fast sunday, I bore my testimony. I think that was my first time ever in my mission, but it felt great. I always bear my testimony with others, but I felt I had to share with the members.

Thanks for all that you guys do for me. I love you all. I can feel your love and appreciation. Thank you so much.

Love,
Hermana Melody Anderson

P.S. Yes, we like lemon pie here. Hahahaha...

I love being here with Hna. Van de Merwe!!‏ {September 1st}

Dear y'all,

Hmm what to say... Well we had interviews with the President this week, which went well. It feels good to be able to express yourself and ask questions. That definitely helped me end my week with a bang. He made me commit to do the all the baptism invitations from now on... Which has always been tough for me, but I've been doing it! Even if I get nervous, I just gotta do it! Hna. Van (for short) really helps me a lot, she helps me know that I can do these things. Anyway, yesterday we had 4 investigators in the church. That felt good! That's the most I've had in my mission. Carlos came and he brought his mom!!! I was so surprised. She doesn't listen to the lessons, but she'll do anything for Carlos to get baptized. He wants to get baptized, and they announced his baptism during church yesterday. The 6th of Septiembre at 6 o'clock in the afternoon, so please pray for him and that everything will work out smoothly.

Also had a Family Home Evening yesterday with him and a family. They taught about missionary service, because the parents both went on missions. The dad asked who wanted to be missionaries or for us, if we would want to serve again? Everyone raised their hands, Carlos wants to serve a mission! I'm just so happy and so blessed. Plus I heard from Ivan our first converso, he's now the mission leader and now he's filling out his missionary papers!!! AHHHHH. I could cry. This mission is such a blessing in my life. Even the people you taught and you think they'll never remember you, but they do. I forgot to add that the interviews were in Lota, where I was born in the mission. I was able to write some notes for the members and him. I love that place. I will be forever grateful.
