Yo solo quiero dar un beso

Hey y'all,

so the title is a joke. Maybe... I mean I'd give my family a kiss! It's a song that I always hear here, and some miembros and I sing it together as a joke. So settle down, I'm not trying to get all "trunky" on you. "Trunky" is a term we use here in the mission. Ask someone about it haha. So this week has been weird. One morning we were studying and all of the sudden the phone ringing. I looked at the screen and it said Presidente Martinez. My heart dropped a little, maybe a lot. He never calls personally unless something has happened. Anyway, he just asked how we were and that he was thinking about us. After we hung up we realized that prob about cambios!! So I have nooo idea if I'll be "killing" Hna. Orellana in her last cambio before she goes home or not. Ughh cambios make me so nervous. Pray that I will be tranquilo.

Ruben didn't get baptized yet, he fell into temptations just like all of us do sometimes. So we're waiting a little bit more. I can't wait for General Conference!!!! So excited to hear the prophet's voice. This revelation is just what I need to strengthen me more for what is to come.

Think I'm going to get a haircut today. Bought some knitted hats because it's freezing here! I'm sleeping with a scarf and many layers. It's raining cats and dogs everyday. They say that this winter is worse than the past one. Yayy... Sorry no pics today. I'm boring. Haha I love you all. Funny thing yesterday, Bishop called me 5 minutes before bedtime asking if I'd give a talk. So much fun. Glad it's over! I shared some scriptures that relate to each other. Like Moses 1:39 with D&C 11:20, I love it! These explain the work of God and our work. It's simple and I know these things are true. I love the scriptures, they make me feel better.

My Birthday in Chile

Hey sorry to be a party pooper, but my birthday wasn't too peaches and cream. So we were in Curacaultin for the day which was okay. My birthday was fine, but when travelling back the next day I got my camera and some money stolen. Luckily I didn't have all of my money with me, but I think I'm more upset about my camera... :( Blah. But I'm alive and wasn't harmed in any way. All my pictures from my actual birthday: GONE. Ouch that hurts. Other that moving on! Some members did something for me during this week. I love torte de piña!! Cake is so different here, it's so much better! I do have some pictures from cellphones, so that'll do for now.

Positive thoughts! We have a baptism for Ruben on the 29th. We'll see how his interview goes, so pray for him a lot!! So happy to hear news from everyone. Glad everyone is alive and moving. This month is almost over, and pretty soon it'll be all of the April birthdays. Crazy! Everyone is getting old. And what the heck is up with everyone getting engaged or married already. By the time I get home everyone I know or knew will be married with kids! Just stop it, okay. Settle down with your just graduated hormones. Well I said it haha, I just have to stop thinking about how I don't have a camera. Life goes on! Thank goodness for prayer. So glad that desafios son oportunidades para aprender and maybe I just have a lot to learn. Hopefully Harm's birthday was better for me! I love you all.

Big 2-0!

Hello dandy folks! How's everything going? I'm doing well here in Chile. Happy that I'm never alone, because being a gringa alone scares me to death. Thank you, compañera! Anyway, hitting the big 2-0 this wednesday without mi gemela... My twin, HARMONY! Found out that I'll be having a gran intercambio on my birthday, so that should be interesting. I miss my twin sister, I've never had a birthday to myself. That'll be strange! Everyone thinks I'm baby in the mission, so it'll be nice to say I'm 20. They have a tradition to put cake in your face on your birthday. I don't want cake in face. No thank you. Nuestro Rubencito is doing so well!! He came to church again this week. 29th of March is looking really golden. Mmmm can't wait! The smell of baptism water. Also this week I got to dance like a pioneer. With the garb included, I looked like little bo-peep gone bad. But hey, I participated! This is the important part, and it's over.

Hope everyone treats Harmony like the princesa she really is. I love that girl so much! Harm, I'm so mad you can't receive packages... I almost sent you one for your birthday! POO. That's how I feel about that. Well I love you, and love thinking how there's another Hermana Anderson. We could totally switch nametags... We're turning 20 este miércoles que raro!!! But just imagine we'll share our next birthday together in 2015. First birthday ever como representantes of Jesus Christ. Pretty GENIAL! Next thing you know we'll be returned missionaries... Wow. Has a ring to it!

P.S. Yes, crazy I am. Found funny effects on this old junker of a camera. Enjoy. Bunny hoppin' fantastic. 20 freakin' doo!

Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree!

!Hola!

This week was pretty awesome, maybe because of the 5th of Marzo my whole week was made. Hehe it was so great! We had the conference that day with President Martinez and his beautiful wife. It was a really spiritual meeting, plus it was great to run into elders from my old sector. I didn't see too many sisters that I knew, but oh well! So Pres had 2 special visitors come to talk to us. First Pres showed us a picture of a baptism, it was him when he was 18. I must admit he was pretty guapísimo! He explained his conversion story, and turns out these 2 visitors were the exact elders who taught him. There were many tears shed. I really felt the spirit, and it's delightfully sweet that I can have these experiences with my investigators as well.

Anyway, mas tarde next thing I hear President say, "Hermana Melody Anderson, venga." My heart almost jumped out my chest! I came to him and he put his arm around me, he asked me if I had been in primary. I told him yes, and he explained that I was probably just as hermosa as I am now haha. He asked if I could sing a song, and I replied, "¿en ingles?" I began singing Popcorn popping on the apricot tree and the whole zone joined with me. I don't think I'll ever forget that moment. Then much later they were calling all the Birthdays that had recently passed or were coming up. Again, they said my full name. They didn't with the other sisters and elders. I'm the only Hermana Anderson in zona de sur so I don't know why... I just kept noticing they kept using my whole name, even when I went to go hug them goodbye. I'm going to miss them so much, and yes I'll be getting a new President in July. My heart might slowly break, they mean so much to me! Anyway, it was a good week! Also Ruben came to church and he loved it! So pray for his baptism that should be 17 or 22 de Marzo. He could be nuestro milagro! I love you all. It's so cold here now. Boo!

Week of March 3rd!

Hello! This week was a week... Haha we've been praying and fasting to have 2 baptisms for this month. We have faith! Still knocking almost everyday, but we have 2 men both named Ruben and they've really great. They have so much potencial! One who lives up on a hilltop called Israel, he wants to get baptized. He said yes to the first invitation for 22 of Marzo, and he said "it has to be the 17th for my birthday!" Hahaha... Good stuff.

So we're working on teaching more of the commandments to see if he needs to change anything. Pray for Ruben, Ruben, Lorenzo, and Evelin. We all need your prayers here!

We have a conference on the 5th and I get to hug Pres. again!! Yay! It'll be good to see him again. I love getting letters, I send my thanks to everyone. I've realized that I absolutely love prayer, I will say it a million times. I love it! Living with latinas has forced me to strengthen my personal prayers. I don't mean to be racist at all. Sometimes I just feel a little lonely, but I have my Heavenly Father. He's my best friend. There's always someone you can turn to. Well hope everyone is doing well. I can't believe I'll be 20 soon... Harm, we're getting so old!! Hahha not really. HAVE A GENIAL SEMANA!!
Sorry I type slow...

Love,
