Week of February 23rd

HEY! How's everybody doing? I'm doing just fine, thank you very much! The mission is a beautiful thing, but I don't like the cambios... They make me so nervous, and I don't know why! Haha but there was no change, so I'm still here with Hna. Orellana de Peru! We're really praying for miracles for this cambio. We're been finding people, but then they don't want to progress. So keep those prayers coming!!

Harm, that's so cool that you get to ride bikes! No fair! Actually that's okay... I can only imagine the hair sweat with a helmet in that dreadful heat. It's warm during the day, and then it gets really chilly at night. I received packages from G-ma Anderson and Aunt Heather. Thank you!! I love receiving something, I feel so loved. It's crazy how tomorrow is Taylor Henselen's Birthday! Oh what a big birthday girl she will be! Happy Birthday EVE!!!! Hehe.

Well not sure exactly what to tell you... But everything is well here, just working hard. Some people don't understand why I would leave the United States to come preach this gospel. But I know why, because I know and feel it's true. Everyday I'm blessed with seeing different smiles. Chile is mi hogar por este tiempo. I love it! Well thanks for everything and all of the letters. It's still Christmas over here in Chile haha. Kidding! But all of my letters are from Christmas. Have a great week!

Love,
Hna. Melody Anderson

Valentines!

Dearest folks,

This week has been pretty tough as well, but I've learned to look at it a different way. Every day is a day to progress. We had a grand intercambio on thursday, and that was pretty crazy. When I found out that I'd be leading my sector again, I was kind of mad... I wanted to experience some different area! But hey, I got to be with Hna. Fonseca and that was fun. She was born in Utah and is from there, but her parents are Columbian. So she speaks perfect spanish and english. I was pretty jelly! (jealous) Well we actually came into contact with Gefargniffe, who had been pregant. She's not anymore! Hehe she had a baby boy and his name is Martin. Another day we passed by and we actually got to get to know her boyfriend. She's reading the Book of Mormon, and I'm so excited to hear what she thinks and feels! Anyway, they're a sweet couple. They just need to get married, cause I know Gef wants to get baptized soon.

I've been having fun getting to know my comp more and more everyday. We're pretty funny and I'm just crazy. I'm allowed to listen to Singing in the Rain and I'm in love! I have a video of me dancing, but don't worry I was in the house... I'm not dancing in public! I love making Hna. Orellana laugh. She's a sweetheart and her spirit is so strong and bright. Hopefully you're not getting tired of my blog... I'm not too exciting! Oh but something neat: our zone has acheived our goal of 12 baptisms, so Presidente is coming to buy us food! And I'll get hugs too! Funny how that's allowed, but I love it because I need a hug from a man once in awhile hahaha. I sent letters again today and feel so good! Also found some sweet clothes today. It's like a Chilean DI and it's awesome. I bought 4 things for 4 buckaroos! I'm just happy. Plus, it's like vintage!

Hopefully I get to stay here another cambio with Hna. Orellana! Or maybe we can leave Fundo El Carmen together to a better place! Hahah we keep searching everyday, it's our life here. I know we're doing our part, and the blessings will come our way soon. Grandma I get your package tomorrow! My leaders have had it for a week now, and it's killing me inside! Thanks everybody for all of your lovin'! I'm keeping on strong here in the mish. Have a spontaneous week! Running out of words to say...

Toodles,
Hermana Melody Anderson

Another Week, almost 6 months!

¡Hola muchachos y muchachas! Yes, there is some wild things we do here in Chile. Like my sword last week, haha I was thinking where's the lawn-mower? It's all good. It didn't function too well, but it made the man happy. This week was rainy too! Not the whole week, but in the beginning. Tuesday was my interview with Presidente Martinez. He made me feel so much better and gave me some good advice. He talked more about the spirit, and the first thing we need to do is ask to have el espíritu con nosotros. Through the spirit all things can be made known unto us. Also receiving his hugs are the best. It's like a hug from my papi pero mi papi de Chile. He always made me promise to always be happy. I was a little hesitant as he took my hand and asked me to promise him. I thought to always be feliz... I'm human sometimes I have moments. I'm sorry! Haha he made my comp promise this also. ¡Pues seguir adelante con felicidad por siempre!

We continue seraching in Fundo Del Carmen everyday. We did have some luck blessed upon us with a lesson with 2 ladies named Carmen y Elena. We invited them to get baptized when they know it's true, and we even set a date and they said yes! So praying for them to progress more. The Lord always blesses us in many ways, and it doesn't have to be spectacular things. It's the little things that count. Also one day we had been looking all with no luck, and then it started to rain. We didn't have umbrellas with us. We waited under a roof-top and my comp decided that we should pray. We prayed to find and meet someone. We went up this hill to where we remembered we had some contacts. They weren't home, but next door there was a young man outside of his house smoking. We asked if we could share a message about Jesucristo. He let us in and also his girlfriend was inside. It turned out they had been having some difficulties and were waiting to receive some peace. God answered our prayer and we helped them. I know God answers prayers. Sometimes it's not right away, but with time He'll decide what you need.

P.S. I recieved 3 packages this week! From Aunt Emily, Grandma Porter, and mi amiga Taylor! Thanks so much for everything, I love it all.
No photos this week... No space for my card-reader.
I bought some skirts today in Ropa Americana haha there's cheap stuff I have found. Magical stuff!

So funny story...

I've actually had to pee outside twice now. It's great being a missionary. You know always walking and there's no bathrooms. I mean I could ask a stranger, "Hey, can I please use your banjo?" Sometimes I just have to go! First experience was actually outside of our house. My compañera was in the bathroom showering and knew she would be another good ten minutes... So I ran to go outside! I felt so much better. I laughed all of the morning, because she had no idea. The other time was at night behind a corner. We were walking home and had just had some soda. I don't know why but I'm not a good drinker. ¡No soy buena para tomar! Joke. Don't worry Hna. Orellana was on the look-out for me. Anyway, just funny suff. I'm crazy, but maybe my bladder wants to break free. Sorry, pee talk.

Week of February 3rd!

Hi everybody, this week started off pretty sweet. We had a zone service activity and we went to the country, a place called Vilcun. I got to cut grass with a sword! That was a different experience, let me tell ya! Haha my arms were a little weak the next day, but it was worth it. It's great to see a smile on someone's face. Service is such a great tool in this life to feel better. It's like a little pick-me-up! I love it. Plus we got to teach the gospel to a man who we were helping. It was crazy, I felt like we were in Panaca with how many people we fit into a truck. There was 24 of us and all of the elders were in the back, it was pretty hilarious. We were also fasting this day, but we got to break it after the service project. We enjoyed some nice semilla (water-melon).

It rained again just yesterday, and all of our citas fijas fell. Which was a bummer... We're still looking everyday! I forgot I also had an intercambio on tuesday, and I was freaking out!! I had to stay in my new sector, which I had only know for 2 weeks. But it all worked out, God does really look out for me. We did find a new investigator and his name is Juan! I swear there is over a million Juan's here haha.

Well I'm continuing to get to know my comp more and more, which is fun! She's quiet, but I'm trying to break that haha. I can't believe my (mami) Hna. Barrios is leaving the 25th of this month!! I'll miss her, I still miss her everyday. It's the mission life! Get close, leave, and meet another! It's all good! I probably get to have an interview with my Pres this week, and I'm so excited!! My spanish is a lot better than the first interview I had. So wish me luck! I love you all!! BYE.
