Week 5!

Hey y'all! My week hasn't been too exciting. But I guess I can tell you what I remember... Hmm so when my companions going running I get bored and try to take pictures in the forest. I'm not losing it, I promise.

Okay! I have so many friends here and I love it. Hermana Hartt is the best! She's hilarious. I was sick and I'm still slowly getting better. My companions thought it was hilarious that the doctor wanted a sample... I won't describe what kind of sample that is, but I'm sure you get the point. They kept saying, "C'mon Hermana Anderson, get that smaple!" It was a funny joke we had between us, because our district didn'nt understand whenever we had to go to the doctor. Anyway should find out the results today! Finally. I think I'm okay though, because I've been able to eat for the most part. All of the girls in my group picture are some from my casa. We sure do have a lot of fun in casa 21. I'm surprised we didn't break that bunk bed. We set a timer on the other side on the other bunk bed and ran back to take the picture. I'm sure you can imagine why we would be laughing. It was a good time! We like to get together and have some girl talk.

This week teaching our investigators have been going well. I love feeling the love of God in my life. It feels so great! I can't believe I only have one more week after this! AHH. I'm scared because apparently the spanish is way different from what you learn. Oh well! Gotta have faith! Mmmm ya gotta have faith! Yes, I'm singing at the moment in my head.
Oh and funny story so before I actually left to go to SLC, I made my parents turn around because I thought I forgot my ctr ring. I searched and I couldn't find it! Anyway, it fell out of a pocket magically one day here while at the MTC. That was a good day. Virtual hugs all around!

Love all y'all!

Week 4!

*WARNING* For sensitive stomach readers.

Dear family, friends, and random admirer,

The past 2 days I have been ill. One night at midnight so I should say morning, I had diarrea. No sleep. Next day stayed in bed, so didn't learn much. I learned that I do love my bed! In the evening I decided I would try to go to class. Before teaching an investigator I had the urge to throw up. Ahem, excuse me while I go vomit. So I did not get to teach with my companions, instead I went back home to my bed. My beautiful bed. As for this morning, I am functioning! I went to the Mexico City temple today. Though I did not understand anything that was said, but I felt the spirit of the Lord while I sat in His house.

My pictures... Chandler, my Panaca friend!! We're serving the same mission. My first companion Hermana Fowlks left for Seatlle, WA. My Pittsburgh friend is here, Hermana Walstrom!! Elder Peacock is a friend my Aunt Emily had me look out for, I found him! Then temple pictures with my companions, district, and my teacher. A lot of fun! You're missing out, believe me.

I hope to learn more and hopefully be out of my bed! My stomach needs to endure these next few weeks. Let us hope! I swear I sing to myself every day. A little George Strait, a fair share of musicals, and even classic disney. Lately I love singing Tangled a lot. Oh and as for the selfies I took on a sunday. That my friends, is my chullo face. Not a duck face. I love you guys! Hope all of you are doing well. Better than my sick self at least!

Endure to the End,

Hermana Melody Anderson

P-Day #2!

Dearest fellow friends and family,

I'm well and alive still. The days have been starting to combine together so I'm not really sure what to tell you! It's about the same every single day. Arise and shine! A lot of studying and classes. I didn't take too many pictures this week. My companions don't really care to just take pictures for fun. That's why you mostly just see a lot of me. So I'm sorry!

I got to wear my boots for the service project and boy did it feel good! SO GOOD! Haha here we don't have what you call p-day clothes. Which kind of sucks, but whatever! I only get to wear them when I'm outside in a specific area. So church clothes all day, EVERY DAY! Woot.

I experienced TRC yesterday for the first time. I have no idea what it stands for... Anyway a volunteer comes in from the city and we get to teach them. They're usually members so we get to know you and leave them with a message. The lady I had was so sweet to us! I think she served in Italy if I heard correctly. Sometimes when investigators are speaking in spanish I just smile and act like I know what they're talking about. ;) When really I have no idea! Man, the language can sometimes put a barrier between us, but I still feel the spirit. Especially when I bear my testimony in spanish.

I love all of the experiences I have been having here! It's hard, but worth it! I'm sure I'll be saying that the whole time I'm out in the field. It's just crazy. Oh so weird thing thay do here... When they have pancakes and waffles in the morning, they don't have syrup. They use ice cream chocolate and strawberry syrup. It's pretty good! But I'm sure it's terrible for me. Don't wanna get fat haha.
Umm I love you and wish so terribly bad I could still have facebook. But obedience is a blessing, and I'll just have to stick it out. I'll try to take more pictures this week! Think I'll be able to go to the temple next week! Oh and I run into Chandler Katschke every single day, so it's good to have a friend here. I'll try to get a picture with him!

Love,

Hermana Melody Anderson

1st P-Day!

Hola! First P-day finally!! It feels like Christmas, I'm serious. I had a companion but she knew too much Spanish so they bumped her up to an intermediate class. Now I'm in a trio! Haha they're really sweet and we have a lot of fun together. My district is awesome! Most of them are 18 and one is 22. We almost always have too much fun when studying together, but esta bien! Teaching our investigator has been tough. I still don't know a lot of Spanish, but I'm still learning everyday.

We had a huge rainstorm before a devotional. We jumped through puddles and landed in puddles. Wet feet are not fun! Back to our investigator, he's a cutie. I won't lie, not with this badge on my chest. Our investigators are our teachers acting so we can practice how to teach an investigator. His name is ¨Jose Luis¨ , it's such a neat experience. I feel the spirit so much here, and I love it! I miss my Harmony so much and my family!! It's hard being away. My P-day is Thursday and I only get an hour so I'm so slow! Here's the mtc address I had the wrong one! Sorry not sorry! Miss you all!

Email from Melody!

Subject: I'M ALIVE!! (ELO jammin' out right now)

Hola! I have arrived to the Mexico MTC!! I had a missionary experience on the airplane. She asked for my email and I gave it to her on a pass along card. Hehe. Well almost had a breakdown when leaving America. But I am alive and okay. My companion is super sweet and she's from Sanantonio, Texas!! YEEHAW. Well this is real and scary, but so cool. Good luck Harm!! I love you guys so much. I felt like Matilda carrying my suitcase. Except it wasn't a red wagon! I am not good at typing, but this will have to do.

All of the elders were so sweet to me and helped me a lot. I will have Elder Hill's dad send you a picture of us. I got all of my luggage. Elder Anderson had one of his bags missing. He's really cool, we sat together on the first flight. Anyway I will be sending my adventures to you like Bilbo Baggins, "There and Back Again..." BYE! Te amo!
