Scatter Sunshine, Blessed Sunshine!‏

SO. Are you ready for the top 10?
Here it goes.

SEMANA 5
1. RODOLFO WAS BAPTIZED. It was the best. Hermana Anderson called him 3 hours before and he was already getting ready. He is the best! He came in a suit and was so ready and anxious and excited to be baptized! We took the best pictures with him. After he just wanted to hug us, but I had to tell him.. Lo siento, solo manos. He felt really bad afterwards, so we told Elder Medina to hug him for us. haha He is such an amazing example to me. His faith, his testimony, and his diligence are all amazing. I love how he loves everything he is taught. On Sunday he was confirmed and he brought this bag. Inside was all of his pamphlets we have given him and his Book of Mormon. He is great! He said he will go to the Salt Lake Temple one day, so I told him to call me and Hermana Anderson when he is in Utah and we can all go together. Its going to happen. haha
2. Daniela! This lady came up to us and contacted us. She wanted to know more about our message. She gave us her address and phone number. She followed us down a pasaje to talk to us. and after, she just went back and went along with her day. We got a hold of her a couple days later, and she sounded really interested in everything. She even told her friend or bf or whatever about the missionaries. Hopefully, she can become a new this week!
3. Oscar & Daniel. They are the friends of Carlos (The 13 year old missionary who is a converso reciente) They are hilarious and so receptive to everything they are taught. Pictures soon. haha
4. I found a mini coke glass bottle, thought it was amazing and took pictures with it for a solid 20 minutes while we were waiting for the Ward Mission Leader to come with us to a cita. It was great and I shall keep it for my entire mission and bring it home. haha
5. Oscar isnt getting baptized on Saturday anymore. His mom thinks it is way too fast for him to get baptized and that he isnt ready for it. Shes super nice and awesome, but not I just want to start teaching her everything as well. We invited her to also pray about his baptism date to see if it was the right thing for him right now. She accepted, and hopefully we can teach her and she will be more receptive to the gospel and teachings as well. CROSS YOUR FINGERS!
6. There is an elder in our district who is out of control.. (thats as much as you get. I was swarn to secrecy.)
7. We taught Oscar and Daniel about the Plan of Salvation with Nelson and Carlos. They loved my pictures I made for the Plan of Salvation. Afterwards, they just all kept telling jokes that werent funny. 1. because they were in spanish 2. because they were stupid. But theyre funny, so thats okay. haha
8. Church? We laughed so so so so much. It was great. The elders that are in the branch and in my district? Man, its so chill how we can all just talk and talk and be chill with eachother. They are great company. hahaha
9. The baptism on Saturday. Nothing was planned until literally 2 hours before? It was crazy how unorganized it was. I wish I knew spanish jsut so I could organize it all because literally.. it was so bad. They didnt know who was baptizing who until 3 oclock. The baptism was at 5. Frustrating, but everything worked out.
10. "DREAM BIG" EFY 2008 Stead and Sure. Look up this song, every body. If youre a missionary, put it on your phone and listen to it. It has been on repeat in the Canete house all week long and I love it! haha

I am grateful for all the many miracles that have been in my life this past week. From people contacting us to my first baptism in the field. I am grateful for the oppurtunity that I have to be in Canete. I love the people and I love the town. I couldnt ask for anything better right now. I have a companion that I get along with, and I love her more and more with every EFY song she sings to me. haha A little scripture for the week. It is one of my favorites. In Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to thine own understanding. We do not know everything, but the Lord does. Put all of your trust in Him, and he will guide your path. It might not be the way you WANT, but it is always the best way for you.

Theres my Spanish for the week. hahaha
Much love always,
Hermana Nonu
DO WORK.

All Y'all:

Well this was quite a week! We had una conferencia de las hermanas and it was great! I really enjoyed the messages I heard, plus it's always great to feel needed as sister missionaries. They told us of how much of an impact we have in the Lord's work and how much they need us. I loved it. Minus all of the travelling... Haha it was a 3 hour bus ride and on the way back it was a tiny bus, and it was HOT. So utterly uncomfortable when everyone was piling on the bus haha, but we made it home!

Rodolfo se bautizo el 25 de Septiembre y era super genial porque también los elderes tuvieron un bautismo. So we had 2 baptisms in Cañete, it was great! Everything worked out as planned. Rodolfo was all emotional and he just made my heart melt. Then the next day he was confirmed a member and he came in his suit! He was all teary-eyed and he kept telling me how good he felt. Awe! I love this gospel and how it has an effect on people. Also we had the primaria presentación, which was adorable! I love kids, they're adorable. Okay moving on...

As of Oscar and Daniel... So now Oscar's mom doesn't want him to get baptized, because she thinks he's too young and it's too fast. :( But she liked us and said we could come over whenever we wanted. Also I asked her if Oscar changed more would she change her mind? She said yes, so we're hoping Oscar does his part! Daniel's parents' said it's fine, but they don't want us going to their house. So we'll continue teaching them at Carlos' house, and see what happens! Please pray to soften the hearts of their parents.

Well please remember to scatter sunshine, it's the least we can do. After all, it makes God and everyone else happy around us. I love every single thing I have the priviledge to do here. I'm so imperfect, but He trusts me! Crazy, huh? He scatters so many blessings and I get to see and feel them everyday. Have a great week!

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skys are gray..."

I've become sick of buses!‏ {October 20th}

All y'all:

Well first off let me give a big shout out to mi Papii!! Congrats on getting your cow elk!! It looks grrreat. I love picture. You did work! Okay. Moving on... Return and Report went well. It wasn't as scary as I thought it was! Mostly talked of the difficulties one has when they enter the mission, and what we can do to fix that. They showed us a video of an elder who went to Chile on his mission and it was a video blog of his first days. I loooved it! I'll be sure to look for that to show you guys sometime. I pretty much felt like that! Overwhelmed, but now I'm so used to everything! I love it here, though I still don't like being hit on so much... It's so uncomfortable!

Well Rodolfo is getting baptized this saturday! He has his interview on wednesday. So you know what to do... Pray! Hahah also something awesome. Carlos' friends accepted fechas to get baptized last night!! Oscar and Daniel for November 22nd!! God really does love me for some reason. I'm so blessed! I love every minute I here. Yesterday we did 52 contacts in 30 minutes. Phew. My comp pushed me, because I get uncomfortable but she said she wanted me because she didn't know what or how to say it. So I did it! And it felt GRREAT! Dios me da mucho valor para hacer las cosas cada día.

Love,
Hermana Melody Anderson

Paz muchachos!! :)

A man just tugged my hair as I walked away...‏ {October 13th}

1. We had a conference in Lota again! So I was walking in my first sector again... Talk about dejavoo
2. Noche de Hogar con Hermana Veronica. She taught us how to make lemon pie. I ate too much! So much for coming home looking good... Ahemm!
3. Home with a fever on Saturday... Boo! I just wanted to leave and see the people! Harm we really are twins, you had a fever too! What is this?!
4. Receieved a letter from Elder Center after waiting for 5 months! Dang. But hey it was a good letter. I loved it. So good to hear from him.
5. Mister Clayton wrote me! Sent a picture of my plaque that's in the church haha. How nice of him to remember me!
6. Just barely as walking into the internet cafe this man looked at me, but in a weird way. I was walking away from him and he tugged my hair. As I turned around his face definitely said this in english, "Mmm Dang, giirl." If you've seen that video you'll understand. Please let me erase that memory from mind now.
7. Carlos, our convert, brought 2 of his friends to church yesterday. What a BOSS. He's such a missionary. Fast sunday is sooo great! I love testimonies. I love the spirit that comes from them.
8. Rodolfo is awesome. His birthday was yesterday and he's 55 now. He might have to get his baptism date moved. We still need to teach him the Word of Wisdom and the Law of Chasity. So pray for us that everything will work out, and that he'll be able to accept this revelation that helps us have the spirit.
9. I'm lounging in some b-ball shorts as of now. No shame. P-day is great. We've been getting everything done that we need to in a short time. That means maybe time for a nap... MAYBE!
10. Returning Report is coming up on friday, it's for all of the trainers and their "kids". I'm not sure what to expect! Wish me luck!
